Rest in Peace Reddi

On October 23, I assisted Stevens County Sherrifs Dept. remove 11 horses from a property out of Springdale,Wa.  They were removed because some of them were starving to death and were in very poor condition. 

The first load out were 3 ponies of varying sizes and ages and a foal.  All were showing backbones, ribs and hips to different degrees.  They were all placed at a home that was willing to take them and care for them with litterally only 15 minutes warning that they were coming.

I then hauled the Thoroughbred stallion out that was named "Slick"(renamed Stud Muffin)to a friends house that I knew would be a safe place for him that would know how to handle his special needs.

I hauled two Thoroughbred mares to another friend which were renamed Reddi and Willing.  Reddi the chestnut mare was in very bad shape and was under constant watch and care of a vet that visited her everyday. 

After 2 weeks if fighting her hardest, Reddi lost her fight and had to be euthanized at 5:55 am on November 6.  Reddi was a special sweet mare and her loss if felt by many.  She will never feel the pain of hunger ever again, but we feel her loss deeply. 

Whole hearted Thanks to Carrie and Tony for doing their best to save her.  To Doc Tami for being there to help Carrie with this sweet mare.  To my friend Wanda who took in "Stud Muffin" as he has been renamed and for helping me get the two mares loaded and to safety with Carrie.  To April who took in 3 mares and a baby at a moments notice and loved and cared for them.  To the officers who stepped up and said enough was enough.  To the judge who didn't let the abuser get any of the horses back that were taken that day. 

Thanks especially to the Lord for giving me the courage to make a stand!  Thanks to so many others who have helped in many ways to help these horses.  Donations by a fairier to trim, donations of grain, wormers, feed, etc. from many others!  All the efforts of many!

We will miss you Reddi!

 You now have rest and peace and no more pain.
